Georgia Council of Chiropractic Announces New State Affiliation with IFCO
ATLANTA – December 1, 2025 – The Georgia Council of Chiropractic (GCC) has formally joined the International Federation of Chiropractors and Organizations (IFCO) as a state affiliate.
This action follows the GCC’s resignation from the International Chiropractors Association (ICA) after an extended period of internal review and discussion regarding governance practices, election procedures, organizational direction, and philosophical alignment.
GCC leadership confirmed that the decision was made after evaluating whether continued ICA affiliation remained consistent with the organization’s mission, governance standards, and long-standing commitment to chiropractic principles as defined by Georgia law and professional tradition.
According to GCC Vice President Drew Henderson, the move represents a values-based alignment rather than a political one. He emphasized that GCC’s affiliation with IFCO reflects shared commitments to professional independence, organizational transparency, and chiropractic identity.
The IFCO is an international organization representing chiropractic associations and groups that emphasize autonomy, philosophical clarity, and opposition to centralized control of education, accreditation, and licensure.
GCC leadership noted that the new affiliation provides Georgia chiropractors with representation in an international organization whose stated mission aligns with GCC’s historical positions on governance, professional identity, and member representation.
The GCC remains focused on its core responsibilities to Georgia chiropractors, including regulatory monitoring, legislative advocacy, continuing education, and member support. Additional information regarding this affiliation will be shared with members as appropriate.
